Jewellery product photoshoot with AI: on-model, true to scale, true to colour

Where sparkle meets scale

You can get on-model jewellery photos with AI from the packshots you already have, without booking a model or a macro studio. Your options are to shoot packshots and close-ups yourself, use a self-serve AI app, book a jewellery photographer, or send your images to a done-for-you service. Olli Studio is the done-for-you option: our team puts each piece on a synthetic model, checks its scale and its metal and stone colour against the real piece, and returns listing-ready images within 48 hours.

Ways to photograph jewellery for e-commerce

There are four ways to make jewellery listing images. Jewellery adds two checks that apparel doesn't have: the piece is small, so its scale on the body has to be right, and metal and stones reflect light, so their colour has to be checked against the real piece. Most listings need both a clean packshot and an on-body image.

Which jewellery photos do Indian marketplaces ask for?

Indian marketplaces publish few jewellery-specific rules, so ask your category manager for the jewellery image sheet before a large shoot.

Sizes, backgrounds and file rules differ by marketplace and are on each marketplace guide. Olli Studio delivers files to each channel's rules (white backgrounds, ratios, minimum resolutions).

Scale on the body: show the piece at its real size

An on-model jewellery image is only useful if the piece is shown at its real size. A 4 cm drop earring must not look like a 7 cm one, and a 16-inch necklace must sit where a 16-inch necklace sits. With Olli Studio, you give us the dimensions, and our team checks each on-model image against them.

What our team checks for scale:

  • Earrings. Drop length against the jawline, and stud size against the earlobe.
  • Necklaces. Where the length falls (collarbone, chest), and the pendant size against the neckline.
  • Rings. Band width and stone size against the finger.
  • Bangles and bracelets. Width and diameter against the wrist, and how many are stacked if it's a set.
  • Nothing extra. No added jewellery the product doesn't include.

Metal and stone colour accuracy

Jewellery is bought on colour: yellow gold, rose gold, silver and oxidised finishes look different, and plating tone separates a premium piece from a cheap-looking one. Stones carry colour and cut that buyers compare with the photo when the parcel arrives. With Olli Studio, every image is checked against your product photo for metal tone and stone colour. We keep reflections natural rather than adding sparkle the piece doesn't have.

What our team checks for colour and detail:

  • Metal tone. Gold stays the gold of your plating (not brighter or more yellow); oxidised silver keeps its dark recesses.
  • Stones. Count, colour, cut and setting match the piece: kundan, polki, CZ, pearls and beads are not added, removed or rearranged.
  • Enamel and meenakari. Colours and pattern match the source photo.
  • Sets. Every piece of a set (necklace, earrings, maang tikka) appears, matched to the same metal tone.

Macro close-ups: what AI can and can't add

A close-up can only show detail that is in your source photo. If your packshot is soft or low-resolution, the fine detail of the stone setting or filigree isn't there to work from, and inventing it would misrepresent the piece. So for macro images we work from your sharpest close-up and keep the detail true to it. A sharp close-up is worth taking for every piece.

What to send us for jewellery

Send the images of your pieces that you already have: packshots, close-ups or simple on-model shots, or a product link. Add a mood board, reference images or a few lines on the look you want. The cleaner the input (good light, plain background, accurate colour), the better the output.

For jewellery, these help most:

  • Dimensions for every piece: drop length, necklace length, pendant size, ring and bangle size.
  • A sharp close-up of the stones and setting, in daylight or a lightbox, with no colour filter.
  • The true metal finish in words (22K-look gold plating, rose gold, 925 silver, oxidised), in case the photo's colour is off.
  • Styling. The outfit or occasion you want (everyday, office, festive, bridal) and, for ethnic sets, the kind of ethnic wear to pair them with.

No 3D files or technical data needed. We work from standard 2D photos.

FAQ

Can AI create on-model jewellery photos from packshots?
Yes. With Olli Studio, you send packshots or close-ups and the dimensions of each piece, and our team creates on-model images on synthetic models at the piece's real size. Each image is checked against your product for metal tone, stones and scale before delivery, and you get the images within 48 hours. One revision round is included.
How do you keep the jewellery the right size on the model?
Send us the dimensions: drop length for earrings, chain length for necklaces, band width for rings, diameter for bangles. Our team checks every on-model image against them, so a short drop doesn't look long and a choker doesn't sit like a long chain.
Will the gold, silver and stone colours match my piece?
That is what our team checks before delivery. Every image is compared with your product photo for metal tone, stone colour and setting, and anything that doesn't match is fixed. Tell us the true finish in words (rose gold, oxidised silver, gold plating) in case your photo's colour is off.
Can AI improve a blurry jewellery photo into a sharp macro shot?
Only up to a point. A close-up can only show detail that's in your source photo; inventing fine stone settings or filigree would misrepresent the piece. Send the sharpest close-up you have, in daylight or a lightbox, and we work from it. If your source is too soft, we tell you before you order.
Do you shoot Indian ethnic jewellery like kundan, temple and oxidised sets?
Yes. Send each piece of the set and the kind of outfit you want them styled with, such as a saree or lehenga. Our team checks stone count, metal tone and that every piece of the set appears. See the womenswear lookbook for ethnic styling.
How do I try it on my jewellery?
Use the free shoot: send a product link or images for 2 products, and we deliver finished images within 48 hours at no cost, with no commitment. There is no minimum order after that. It's the simplest way to judge scale, metal tone and stones on your own pieces before you commit. Get your free shoot.
