Free image compressor: shrink photos under a size cap
Compress product photos under a file-size cap you pick while the pixel size stays the same. Free, no account, and your files never leave your browser.
JPEG and WebP are saved at the highest quality that fits under the cap.
Optional. Shrinks only images larger than this, keeping the aspect ratio.
PNG is lossless: choose JPEG or WebP to shrink a PNG.
Example: a published cap
noon file size: 10 MB maximum per image.

How it works
What does the image compressor do?
The Olli for Brands image compressor shrinks product photos until each file is under the size cap you pick. JPEG and WebP images are saved again at a lower quality, step by step, keeping the highest quality that fits. The pixel size stays the same unless you set a longest-side limit. PNG is lossless, so a lower quality does not make it smaller: a PNG still over the cap is reported in the results, never silently converted. Switch the output format to JPEG or WebP to bring it under.
Every file is compressed in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and you do not need an account. Once the page has loaded, the tool keeps working even if you go offline. You can add up to 50 JPEG, PNG or WebP images per batch.
Caps use decimal units: 1 KB is 1000 bytes and 1 MB is 1,000,000 bytes. Some tools count 1 KB as 1024 bytes, which allows a slightly bigger file. The decimal reading is the stricter one, so a file under the cap here also meets a marketplace's KB rule under either reading.
Step by step
How to compress a photo under a file-size cap
- Add your imagesDrop up to 50 JPEG, PNG or WebP files onto the tool, or choose them from your device.
- Pick the capOne click sets 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB and 2 MB; pick Custom to type your own cap in KB. Add a longest-side limit only if the images should also get smaller in pixels.
- Choose the output formatKeep original saves each file in its own format. Choose JPEG or WebP to shrink a PNG: PNG is lossless, so lowering its quality does not make it smaller.
- DownloadPress Compress. Each image shows its old and new file size, the saving and whether it is under the cap. Save them one by one, or all at once as a zip file.
FAQs
Image compressor FAQs
Does the image compressor upload my images?
No. The Olli for Brands image compressor runs entirely in your browser: your images are read, compressed and zipped on your own device and are never sent to Olli for Brands or any other server. That is also why it keeps working if you go offline after the page has loaded.
What does under a cap mean, and how big is a KB here?
The cap is the largest file size you will accept. Each image is saved at the highest quality that keeps it at or below the cap, and its result says Under cap or Over cap. Caps use decimal units: 1 KB is 1000 bytes and 1 MB is 1,000,000 bytes. That is the stricter reading of a KB rule, so a file under the cap here also passes a rule that counts 1 KB as 1024 bytes.
Why is my PNG still over the cap?
The compressor reads JPEG, PNG and WebP images and saves each one in its own format, or as JPEG or WebP if you choose. JPEG and WebP get smaller at a lower quality; PNG is lossless, so it does not. The compressor never converts a PNG without asking: it marks the file Over cap instead. Set the output format to JPEG or WebP, or set a longest-side limit so the image has fewer pixels.
Does it change the pixel size of my photos?
No. The width and height stay exactly the same unless you set a longest-side limit. Then only images larger than the limit are shrunk until their longest side matches it, keeping the aspect ratio; nothing is cropped or stretched.
Why does Safari give me PNG instead of WebP?
Safari's built-in image encoder does not produce WebP, so when you ask for WebP it saves PNG instead. The compressor names the file .png and notes the switch in the results. If you need a smaller file in Safari, choose JPEG.
Is the image compressor free?
Yes. It is free to use with no account, no watermark and no limit on how many batches you run. It is made by Olli for Brands, whose Olli Studio service produces the product photos themselves: a done-for-you AI photoshoot that starts with 2 products free.
